The „School of Trad“ was launched in 2022 to give bagpipers the opportunity to advance in their play and to work on common session repertoire.
Every month you will get new music pieces, exercises, routines, tips, tricks and much more. Everything is provided in video-format to make sure you achieve the best possible practice results.
The „School of Trad“ is meant to connect. All exercises are provided in different levels of difficulty and complexity to make sure everyone can take part regardless of the current skills.
Matthias „Mattis“ Branschke is a bagpipe player and instrument maker(www.dudelsackmanufaktur.de). He has many years of experience in teaching bagpipes within Germany and abroad.
His analytical and modular approach to music creates a perfect and stable base on which his students can develop a varied play with strong expression.

As the primary instructor, Mattis will share all his knowledge from over 20 years of experience with traditional German music in this course.

All content is designed for bagpipes in g/c with semi-closed fingering. You are guaranteed to find a suitable instrument at dudelsackmanufaktur.de.
You’ll find everything you need in your course area. All you have to do is grab your instrument and you’re ready to go.
We recommend headphones to understand the course content well next your own instrument, but these are optional.
Every month you will receive a new piece of music in three 20 to 40-minute videos. The first one deals with the harmonic base and a basic version of the melody. The second video is about the entire main melody and the third video adds embellishments and variations.
As a Plus member, you’ll get two additional videos each month on top of that, which will talk about difficult parts of the melody, contain additional exercises and routines, and are packed with all kinds of tips and tricks.
You can cancel your membership at any time. Your membership will then expire at the end of the already paid term (monthly).
